Production Update 12-22-2011

The holiday season is upon us and we're all looking forward to a couple of days to spend with friends and family. But before we do, we're going to be pushing out an update for our players. This will be a client update, and a large one, which will require a download. There is also a chance that we'll include some host code updates at some time over the next couple of days which will require a quick down/up of the live server.


While there are still a few issues with the live game, specifically the chat server, many of the larger ones have been eliminated, specifically the "synching" phase that would prevent the server from rebooting itself. Even now, new host binaries are being written to the beta cluster with more fixes and tweaks. Details on some of the work done in the past 24 hours can be found after the 1.34.6.255 Readme. UPDATE: Server host binaries updated ~ Chat crash fixes in place!

Another change you will see is a change we made to mission creation: Players with Rank 3 and above can now create missions. We are also updating to include rank sharing (to rank 13) for the French and British. The combined stats will allow players in either Allied army/navy/air force to rank up simultaneously rather than have to devote twice as much time to gain rank separately.

We expect this client to go live later today or early tomorrow before the Christmas weekend.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you at CRS. Thank you for your dedication and hard work. A little bit of patience on our part is a small price to pay for progress. You guys have always come through for us.

I know you guys have been working really hard. There is no game in my opinion better than this one, and there are many other players who feel the same way too. So keep doing what you do and know that many of us are behind you 100%.
