The day has arrived! Our first public test of the v1.31 update is now available. Start right here to learn how to get the Beta client and how to complete the benchmark tests. The Beta server schedule can be found here. Please make sure to take part in our weekly focus testing and help us get 1.31 out live as quickly as possible.  Let's get started!

WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT FROM THIS BETA CLIENT

If it looks like something's not working or doesn't seem right, it probably isn't. At this stage of 1.31 development we are down to a few dozen or so bugs, most minor. One of our goals is to identify new bugs that haven't been caught by our production staff or the team of closed Beta testers. Please report any issues in the GAME BUG REPORTS forum.

DO YOU MEET THE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS FOR TESTING 1.31?
As with most all major software updates and new game releases, system requirements have moved up for Battleground Europe for 1.31. Our goal with this update was to bring the game in line with recent MMOs and closer to the graphic features seen in more recent game releases. New features like higher resolution textures, higher polygon models, more trees, bushes and grass along with effects like shadows and rain all come at a cost... system horsepower. We know some of you are long overdue for a hardware overhaul and to try and keep as many of you playing when 1.31 arrives for campaign play, we've created a shopping list for building a brand new rig for as little as $500.

Minimum System Requirements
  • Windows OS: Windows XP/Vista /Windows 7
  • Macintosh OS: OSX 10.6/OSX 10.5
  • Processor: Pentium 4 3.2 GHz or Athlon 64 3500+ or better with SSE 2.0 support
  • Memory: 2GB
  • Hard Drive: 2 GB Free
  • Sound: on-board or better
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series or ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro or better discreet GPU with 256 MB VRAM and Shader Model 3.0*
  • Broadband Internet Connection

Recommended System Requirements

  • Windows OS: Windows XP/Vista /Windows 7
  • Macintosh OS: OSX 10.6/OSX 10.5
  • Processor: 3 GHz Dual Core or 2.66 GHz Quad Core
  • Memory: 4 GB
  • Hard Drive: 2 GB Free
  • Sound: on-board or better
  • Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 250 or Radeon HD 4850 or better*
  • Broadband Internet Connection
* Integrated graphics hardware is not supported

DOWNLOAD THE TESTING PROCEDURE

We've created a file that you can download and print that has the step-by-step instructions on how to test and what to report on this phase of the Beta. It should take you less than 20 minutes to complete all the tests and submit your results to our survey. It is critical to our success in gathering data that the testing procedure is followed closely and reported accurately. This where our community of players can really shine and help with 1.31. We need to make some final adjustments to game settings and performance tuning and we need the data to rely on to help make those decisions.

GET THE TESTING PROCEDURE HERE

DOWNLOAD THE 1.31.0 BETA CLIENT

First the checklist!

  1. I meet the system requirements
  2. I have downloaded and reviewed the testing procedure
  3. I understand this is a Beta test client which will exhibit some bugs and known issues that will not be present in the final release.

CHECK THE OPEN BETA TESTING/SERVER SCHEDULE

We will be releasing the testing schedule on a regular basis. Make sure to keep checking the website for the updated schedule. We need your help with the focus testing to get 1.31 polished and ready for release as quickly as possible.

Would it help if those finding Bugs that are not posted or of Know issues to use Fraps or another recording program and film they for you?

Issue: when I click to play, I get "unable to log in to patch server." When I click "ok" the Playnet service agreement screen opens but I cannot click on "agree" for terms of service so I cancel out each time. Any fix, or is it just me?

Got it running on my old laptop with 512Ram and 64Mo vid card (1.0 shaders). Well, it crashes due to a lack of memory soon or later, but got a look at visual things. Nice.

I can run the beta offline, but I get "Installation/registry error: Installation may be corrupted. Please try reinstalling." when I run the online version. It comes up first thing, no other error or screens appear. I've installed twice.

Hello, everybody.
I have a question.
Would a Geforce 9600 work well with 1.31?
I was planning on getting the Geforce 250 GTS but my computer's power supply
does not meet it's requirements.

Thanks,
Cooper.
