A million thanks to everyone who helped us get this event going, special shout outs go to Icetwp for his meticulous planning of the event. I'd also like to extend a heartfelt HUZZAH! to Desouzaj, Vondoosh, Z1232 and all the flyboys from the JG51. S! If I've forgotten to mention anyone, I apologize, I was too busy sinking to take proper notes.  I'm declaring a CRS victory since KILLER managed to limp his 1934 class Zerstorer into Oostende port before being finished off by a barrage of shelling from shore defenses and an enemy flotilla.

We struck out from Vlissingen at 4pm, 13 RATS strong with a steady supply of meat shield....um....crew volunteers.  The first issue we ran into were the eastern shore batteries at Knokke. Several of them were taken out while the rest of the flotilla swung north to stay well out of range. It wasn't long before the report came in: Enemy air spotted!  The Allied air began their attack and we would have all sunk to the bottom if it hadn't been for the timely intervention of the JG 51, helmed by Bubi01. The boys kept the Allied air occupied so that we could forge on towards Oost.  It wasn't long before we took some heavy losses, however, and many of us had to return to Vliss and respawn. Only KILLER, BLOO, GOPHUR and RAFTER managed to stay mostly intact and steam ahead.  A new wave of enemy air unleashed a hail of bombs on our poor heads, accompanied by a secret torpedo attack led by the traitorous DOC ! Several more tons of good German metal drifted into the depths. Only swinging far to the north allowed KILLER to force his way into Oostende. We didn't have long to celebrate as the defensive batteries and an enemy DD quickly finished him off. BLOO and GOPHUR got close, but couldn't quite make it across the finish line. RAFTER's engines were taken out close to Knokke but he stayed with his crippled ship and managed to take 14 unlucky Allied players with him (We suspect an errant round landed on an infantry spawn...)

Thanks again to all who participated. There was much hooting and hollering here in the halls of CRS so you know we had fun.

S!

I was sunk 2km out of the dock. The strat server crashed mid-trip, so Denw2o was robbed of his torpedo kill. We were coming in and I spotted it off my right bow a bit, denw2o asked me to steer right a bit. I did and BOOM! FISH KILL!

Hey! I was the one helping take out those 16 there at Knokke. There was no errant round about it. ;)

I was part of the first run of torpedo bombers, got the first fish in the water after slowing down from the dive. Hit DEKARD in the bows, no kill though, I fluttered and augured from a lack of E and a few 37mm hits to the belly. Was really fun.
