| SOFTCAPPING? |

"Softcapping" is something that comes up frequently in the Barracks. Questions and/or concerns have been expressed in the past about this tactic so DOC would like to address it briefly to let you know what the feeling is at Rat HQ. Producer response to these discussion (note that we may not actually end up with what is proposed in the following only that we will arrive at a solution and player discussion is always welcome):We need to code it so that after a fair amount of time, surrounded and cut off towns are automatically "flipped" to friendly (surrounding side) and any remaining enemy brigades are automatically moved off map to training as a form of surrender/rout/capture. This will remove softcaps as a player action necessity and point of frustration and also create new impetus within the playerbase that they must fight their way out of the situation or risk losing it entirely in 100% of cases, no exceptions. The important break point is to determine how long is long enough for the “fight to restore your lines” to take place in most cases, without cutting off the opportunity too soon to allow it to exist as a possibility that is reasonable. |

7 hours, 1 resupply cycle. I would suggest that all towns which are unoccupied or have no brigade adjacent to them flip after around an hour. GJ RATS!

Good plan. Make it impossible to softcap more than [x] or (2-3) towns from a town w/ a flag.

I like it as it also eliminates the brigades behind the line drama....

24 hrs minimum, so it goes through all primetime cycles-everyone gets a chance to fight out before its lost

Very good news. Softcapping can be a pain and a "waste" of game time and effort. Not enough room to post ideas here hence thread in barracks !!

I would say that every hour towns with no flag in can do a suply check. If no link to factories, they change side. :-) too drastic maybe on big cuts?

1 Resupply cycle seems like the best time.

Is removing flags automatically necessary? Empty towns, flipping automatically, would end softcapping by itself. Routing flags is another matter.
