Edelman's question in the Motor Pool: "I dont seem to learn this. Whats the gamerules for this? If my tank loses, say the gunner, but the driver is alive and i return to base. Is that tank going directly to the spawnlist or is it lost and needs the 7 hour resupply time to get a new one? Is it the same for atgs and other multicrew equipment?"

DOC: Kills are awarded based on the success or failure of the shooter killing the units basic or primary combat ability. Think of them as mission kills on the unit in question rather than actually killing the crew, although killing the crew specific to the units combat mission are counted. Note that the deciding factor is not the crew but what that crew do relative to the units combat mission objective.

Kills also mean that there is no reason to RTB the unit since it is lost to supply for the maximum replacement time value.

Tank and AFV Kills:

Driver dead = killed
Gunner dead = killed
Main Gun destoyed = killed
Engine destroyed = killed
Both tracks and their main suspension component are destroyed = killed
(tracks can be broken but it isn't a kill unless the suspension is destroyed as well)
Tank blown up (turret off) or burnt out from catastrophic fire = killed

Plane Kills:

Pilot dead = killed
Engine dead = killed
Wing or fuselage failure = killed
Plane flames up and kills the pilot or removes the wing = killed

ATG or AAG Kills:

Gunner dead = killed
Main gun destroyed = killed

Truck and heavy hauler kills:

Driver dead = killed
Engine dead = killed
Wheels and main suspension component destroyed = killed
Blown up or on fire = killed

Boat Kills:

Engines dead = killed
All main guns dead = killed
All crew dead = kill (you cannot kill all the crew on a destroyer except by sinking it)
Boat sinks = killed
Boat on fire = killed

There are some situations where you as the shooter will assume you got the kill but are not awarded it, but these happen because:

1) Somebody else already got the kill for previous damage done before your damage was done. Only 1 kill is awarded for each unit although it can of course be damaged after it is "dead" according to it's mission as a combat vehicle. You might blow the turret off a tank with a dead gunner in it for example, and thus somebody already "killed it" before it blew up.

2) CSR error: sometimes (for reasons we haven't yet solved) the scoring database will "lose" a kill report. These are not very common and usually result from a glitch between the client and the host in despawn hand-off between the gameworld and the client in the sortie database handling.

I'm fine with all the damages being Kills, but wouldn't it be better if they were listed as "Heavily Damaged" or something along those lines. It'll still be the same as a Kill (points and resupply) but instead just say its in Repair or something.

This needs to be fed back to the player via some mechanism on the GUI. Removes the guesswork and helps n00bs who'll not have read this.

If the non-gunner crew of ATG or AAA is dead, it doesn't count as a kill. The shooter gets no points unless he takes out the gunner crew member, because it is still functional, just can't move. But if this happens & it despawns, is it lost to supply?

It would be nice to know that the vehicle I am in is "dead" BEFORE I drive my hammered tank back to the fb for 30 min to find out is is no good.

You do know before you drive it back, if it is dead or not. Can it still shoot it's main armament ? If not, and it's still drivable, it's already dead, scoring wise.

Ship kill conditions are incorrect - one engine not both is a kill, or a "ticking noise" - not sure what it really represents - being present.
System says u dead - even though u can sail around full speed indefinitly & all guns function.
