Romzburg wanted to know what our resident arteest is working on as mentioned in the Twitter feed: "DEKARD adding "stone fences", "trucks" to "FARM TILES" Are "Farm Tiles" those small compounds with a destroyed house, and a couple water troughs and sheds? Or are they a new addition of a farm compound? (oh please oh please). (I'm thinking they are the destroyed house that took the place of the old 2-D ruins...)" DEKARD: "farmcover2" and "farmcover3" are terrain tiles that are used throughout the gameworld. They contain berms and trees only. I am trying to get more variety of objects into the world through instancing other game objects with varying successes. Nothing has been finalized yet, and we will have to see if this effects performance before it's in for a final test in beta. Things like the rock on the side of the road (replaced with a broken cart) some rockwall fences have been placed in some of the game tiles.Unfortunately, this not related to the farm ruins model object, (but that model farmruin is scheduled to have Toto or I touch it here pretty soon to instance some of the objects in it to make it a better performing model.) so I'll probably add a few props. |

I am still not sure how all this instancing works, I keep reading about it everywhere since 1.31 but to be honest, I don't understand the technical background, could you please explain this a little bit?
