WHY SO MUCH RAIN?

A question from Mcafeed in the Barracks: "Why does it rain in game so much? It seems to me and everyone I chat with in game or talk to on TS that the rain is excessive. It's a great new addition to the game, but please back it off a bit. This is not the Amazon Rain forrest, it's Europe"

KFS1: The current weather implementation takes a per-day approach for simplicity's sake. Every game-day, the game decides whether or not it should be overcast on the new day. There is a 1 in 4 chance of an overcast day, and a special rule that says it can't be overcast two game-days in a row.

When overcast is selected, there are a fixed number of rain sequences, and it never rains for more than 20-minutes (game time) in a row.

In all the time I've played 1.31 since release, I have yet to see it rain. I've seen it overcast, which I guess some might call "rainy", but I haven't yet seen 1.31 rain on the live server.

So, if some of you are seeing non-stop rain, then Houston, we have a problem.

I've seen rain for more than 20-minutes in game time. In fact, it was more like 20 minutes real time. And while some people saw rain others only saw overcast. Not sure if that was due to their settings.

Are you actually denying it happened because you haven't seen it?

Seriously?

Take a look at your settings. Otherwise, I'm Belgian and I could tell you that in this country, it rains a lot. (More than 200 days of rain per year)

Not had any rain yet, but, I haven't seen a sunny day either in 131, likely has to do with my hour's, and when I play though.

I love the rain. It washes memories off the sidewalks of life...
