Some concerns have cropped up regarding the performance of Bofors rounds: "Me and some colleagues who also play bofors have noticed a distinct change in the gun with the last patch - and no mention of changes in the notes. Could you please explain why you have decreased the velocity of the rounds initially from 900m/s to 875m/s and why in game, they are actually only 500-575m/s. Do you intend to rectify the problem with your next minor patch?"

MOTORMOUTH: There were no changes made to any ballistics models for the Bofors with the 1.31 update. What did change was the look of the tracers. Tracers were reduced from dinner plate size to something smaller and more realistic. This was done because with the new effects system, tracers were so huge it was like shooting glowing white soccer balls, and it looked hokey as hell.

The updates made to visual effects is absolutely going to throw your targeting off. Because it was something that changed quickly rather than gradually, it's going to be pretty jarring for regular AA gunners. Over time, however, you'll find that you adjust to the change and aircraft will once again be dropping like gnats in a cloud of bug spray.

The original questioner is actually correct though MM. Just checked the bofors with a stopwatch and the round actually does take some 3 seconds or so to go 1600m.

IRL bofors m/v should be around 850 m/sec should it not?

In a sherman, Char and S35 I have had my treads blown off by supposedly 40 MM HE which has never been possible before this last patch. I have also been killed by this 40 MM HE ammo. How can this be?

the only problem i have with it , is i wish someone would take a few mins to draw in some 40 mm ammo in the feed rollers on the gun i always feel silly shooting an empty gun, they dont have to function ,just for looks you know , have a great day !

Motormouth, can you complete the question - as to why bofors ingame dont travel @ 875-900m/s and only travel at roughly 500-575m/s?

Chasf, having treads disabled by the heavy power of a 40mm HE round is completely possible, and infact i would say, only part of the damage a series of hits from them would do to a medium tank ( Char being medium by late war standards )
