A question from oo6oo7 in the Barracks regarding the choice of colors for the pants on the new Axis soldier: "I was wondering why the decision was made to color the pants gray and not feldgrau, which is a more green color (the same as the tunic?"

BLOO: In 1940, the most common trouser (langhosen) color was Stone Gray (Steingrau) as part of the M36 group of kit.  Field Gray (Feldgrau) color trousers began to be produced in Early 1940 but were not really available until the Eastern Front fighting began in 1941.  Because of the tremendous quantity of already produced stone gray trousers, feldgrau was not really predominant until mid-war:"...the Army had well over 15,000,000 pair of stone gray trousers already issued to the troops, plus millions more in stock and millions of yards in stockpiled stone gray wool. This ensured that stone gray remained the predominant color of Heer trousers until mid-war."

All the above sounds fine, but I hope one day to see some variation in uniform. The German's had more than just one style of tunic, and one style of trousers. that way, not every single soldier looks the same.

From a historical point of view I can confirm 100% what BLOO posted and I am researching this stuff since 15 years.

I just hope and pray that the same precison seen here with the historical data in regards to M36 trousers and their color shade will be used to design the rest of the uniform (collar tabs, button count, shoulder straps, etc..)

I wish this game would hurry up and reach 44' so we can see the 12.SS/9.SS introduced. Nothing looks more bad ass then Dot 44 Peas/Oak Leaf Pattern.
