Lots of good questions are coming from players on the heels of our 3rd person infantry update: "Is the plan to still have multiple possible textures for the infantries faces? I've noticed that the helmets seem to be an object placed on the models head instead of being actually a part of the models like they are now. Assuming that is correct - does that mean that different types of soldiers are going to be differentiated by different helmets/other gear as opposed to completely different models as we have now?"
RAFTER: As part of the third person update, new techniques for how helmets and other "kit" objects are applied to infantry are being used. Yes, this means helmets and other kit can be swapped out when a character is spawning in instead of building these into the base model. This flexibility will open up new options after first release of the update. Options like different helmets for the same infantry class.
Regarding texture swapping, we also want to provide for different textures for characters- adding things like color variations and more/less dirt and even different uniforms. We may have to take a temporary step back on the variations for faces but we do have a plan to bring more variety. |

need some fun for real
it could add a fun factor to the game for snipers and also a good way of confirming a hit if u see a helmet fly through the air.
colonel will have a beard and raggedy uniform?
This Game is like a fine wine, it just keeps getting better and better. I've made it my new vocation!
