A question came up the other day in the Barracks regarding the capture timers and how they are calculated: "I wondering if there is a place where the depot capture timers are listed. I'm under the assumption that 8 infantrymen will capture in one minute and one in eight minutes, but am not sure about in between."
There is no fixed "capture timer" any more, what we have now is "capture progress" which is a percentage counter.
When one or more player is inside a captureable enemy building, the capture progress is advanced once a second based on the number of attackers currently inside that building.
For as long as at least one capper remains, none of the contributions are lost tho. When a player dies/leaves, the reduction in per-second contributions will cause it to take longer to finish the remaining capture, but that player will still have reduced the total amount of time the capture would take start-to-finish.
It takes a single player 480 seconds (8 minutes) to complete a 100% capture. 12 (or more) players only take 60 seconds to complete 100%.
If 1 player caps for 4 minutes (50%) and then 11 more cappers join him, it will only take 30 seconds more to finish the capture (total time taken: 4 minutes 30).
A more complex example:
Time Cap% State ETA -------------------------------------------------------- 0m00s 0% Player starts a capture alone. 8m00s
1m00s 8% 11 more cappers enter the building. 52s
1m30s 58% 11 cappers die/leave the building. 3m22s
2m30s 66% Player A has contributed an extra 2m43s
The 0 to 100% times for X players are as follows: # of Time to Cappers cap 100% 1 8.0 mins 2 5.0 mins 3 4.6 mins 4 4.1 mins 5 3.7 mins 6 3.3 mins 7 2.9 mins 8 149 secs 9 125 secs 10 103 secs 11 81 secs 12 60 secs |
