RAFTEROn the heels of our biggest update in a couple of years, we're seeing a very significant increase in players re-subscribing, we have a marked improvement in conversions from trials and we've gotten some much-needed press coverage and new partnerships. 1.31 has all the marks of a successful release.

For the past month, we've been in our dark, secret labs working up a plan for several huge new features to the game. They require another big effort on the part of the team and also some specialized tools and assets. We're on an aggressive schedule that could possibly see two major updates come to the game before the year is out.

So we've been disappointed to see a spike in players pressing the dreaded "unsub" button as protest over a few glitches and unfortunate misteps in campaign management and map states.

Here's the reality... pushing the "unsub" button because of issues like map states or HC actions or glitches in capture buildings or any other bug that might inadvertantly affect your game, doesn't have the effect you might think it does. We tackle problems and issues as quickly as we can and make fair and fun gameplay a priority every day. We have staff like DOC, MOTOR, TOPD, JOKER007, KJ and a team of in-game volunteers spending a lot of time and effort to try and make the game as good as possible for as many as possible. There isn't a higher priority for us. We are aware as quickly as you are to possible problems and we put maximum effort into tackling them.

So what effect do "unsubs" from active players have on us? Mostly they can delay the work and feasibility of features because of resources available to the team. 100% of our company's budget goes to developing and operating WWIIOL:BE. When that budget is reduced it can mean fewer dollars for licensing software or technology, adding or contracting staff and sometimes it can mean shelving new content or features to a later date.

So how can you help? If you're frustrated or want an issue to get some attention, submit a question for our "Player Forum Feedback" on the forums, participate in one of our surveys or jump into our frequent Rat Chats.  Better yet, step away from the keyboard and take a deep breath. If you find yourself wandering outside into the summer sun instead of playing WWIIOL, for just the price of a movie keep your subscription active instead of unsubbing. You may not think your subscription counts but it really does.

Our development budget is tighter than you might think and we've got big plans for the rest of 2010. Stay tuned for the details but in the meantime, show your support for on-going development. The next feature might be the one you've been waiting for!

It's been my experience as a business owner in the current economic environment, that people will "invent" a voiceterous reason to no longer pay for something instead of admitting they can no longer afford it. (pride)

It's all Rafter's fault! At least that's what KFS1 said. Now, I'm not one to start rumors, but.........

I've recently returned after being away for 3 years, so I know how some people feel the need to hit the unsub buttons ometimes.

Some people just need a break from it all. I'm 100% (myself being proof) positive, that they will be back.

No game put together a half of which WWII OL does. Here we have full PVP, very immersible environment, fight on air, ground and sea on a continuous 24x7 world.

No other offers this, good job RATs and my one year subscription will be back!

Perhaps another welcome back soldier promo? Having one during a "beta test" doesn't seem to me to be the best idea ever.Have a WBS AFTER you have the bugs knocked out. Hey, still a fan guys, played for years, just not a subscriber right now.

Soon every MMO will be item malls, and we wont have many games left.

I know the older generations are just about retiring for good to xboxes.

resubs can be from players like me.

A couple issues aside this has been on of the best campaigns I've seen. GHC and AHC have both bean giving it their best and it's unfortunate to see some tempers get flared when the stakes are so high.

You want folks to come back rafter add the rest of the navy, finish the fleets models. Give the players back their ability to have fun OUTSIDE of the AO's and HC control. Rework TOE's.

Say what? This game SAVES me money. I have not gone to countless movies, dinners and countless other games because of your game. This is BY FAR the best entertainment value around.
