An excerpt from the desk of the Allied Commander-in-Chief: S! Allied Players.  Campaign 52 is still in full swing. We are currently on day 8 of the campaign and by the time you read this, Tier 2 will have started. The allies are still performing superbly. Increased cooperation and coordination is evident in the game and in the forums. We have held the axis in strategic areas and made advances in others.

I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome JOKER007 to the Game Management team. I look forward to working with him and teaching him everything that LATHAM passed on to me. I'd also like to thank Latham for all of the help he provided me when I was brought on-board but, more than that, the tireless support he provided to our community.  Latham can be proud of his accomplishments and the positive mark he has left on the community. Take care, friend!

FROM THE DESK OF THE ALLIED COMMANDER IN CHIEF:

S! Allied Players

I took the reins of the AHC 8 days ago and I could not be any more proud of my officers. They have performed exceptionally. They have come together to support each other and make sure everyone has a fun playing the game. Having fun is the most important thing we can do. Morale is high and players are being awarded for their valor in action.

Operations are planned in the near future to further the fun and enjoyment of all the players. We hope to have these fairly often to keep the spirit and morale up for all the Allied players.

The Allied CinC’s Dispatches from the Field!

Once again Mars, God of War, has us in his mesmerising grip; we're puppets in his performance, enthralled and addicted. The Allied High Command field reports show the tense knife-edge of the fresh campaign; early successes, some missed opportunities and some some fearsome defences.

Brigadier-General Oneupu2, initially deployed to the northern shores:

"I was asked by Col. Darthvader to assist him with a Para jump into Krabbendijke. We dropped from around 1200 ft, landed and went straight for the main spawn CP. It was assaulted and taken within. Everyone then split up and headed for other CPs and I headed for the bunker. We left a couple of Guards at the Spawn CP. I made it to the bunker and carried out a one man attack. Luckily no-one was there. I took up position at the murder hole inside the main entrance. A GHC ran in, and I took him down. I was badly injured and when another couple of Allied troopers ran in I despawned due to my vision being so badly interupted by darkness.
We had a good attack force in town, so I went back about my AHC duties and looked for another mission to help with. KC23 had set up a Para attack on BoZ, so I hopped on his plane and went for another short haul flight. On the first attempt we were taken out by either AAA or by very fast approaching ground (700ft jump). We tried again, but this time I took control of the C47. We were 10 kms out when I was jumped by 2 x 109s. I managed avoidance tactics until 1 km out when my cockpit was filled with lead. I called jump and some of my brave Paras made it out. The rest crashed along with me just short of our target. A third attempt was more successful when all paras managed to jump out of my AAA stricken C47, a bit late though and some dropped in the water beyond our target. I returned the aircraft to base and returned to High Command duties. The attack on Krabbendijke had stopped after we lost the Spawn CP and Allied soldiers withdrew from the area."

He later reported from the south:

"I was informed one of the FBs had been destroyed and Axis had moved to attack the nearby town of Longwy. This needed to be done quick. I set up mission and drove my MSP to within 700mtrs of the town and deployed. I went sniper, so as to have a look around and made my way towards the town. I was then joined by another 2 soldiers. We all made our way towards and into the town. It was all quiet at the time. The other 2 guys went straight to the spawn CP which I had marked and took up post in a nearby building over looking the CP. The spawn was captured moments later and I put the call out "Boots required, Spawn up in Virton".
The two guys stayed in the CP to guard it from possible Axis attack. I made my way to the nearest Axis CP and captured it, I then went to the North CP and captured that also. A quick look at the map showed me that only the city CP and the AB were still Axis. So I made my way to the City CP and captured that also. Another look at the map showed me that Allied troops had started to spawn in and as I was still sniper, I decided to despawn and change my weapon to my trusty SMG. I spawned in and straight away filled a German Officer full of holes who was trying to recapture the spawn CP. I made my way behind the Vehicle spawn and killed an enemy Bofor, before I seccumbed to a LMG hiding in the bushes.

I respawned again and took out another enemy soldier near the bunker and then we made it into the bunker itself. Three others were in there with me and one of them captured the Army base and subsequently the Axis town. The Axis strengths here were small due to their minds being pre-occupied elsewhere and the fact it was only an Armored Brigade guarding which I took full advantage of their weakness."

Colonel Silky reported:

"Fresnes is a small town at the very south of the region and is always exposed. The town itself is great fun to attack and defend, with an isolated depot to the far east and west. Our nearest unit was the ArFr brigade in Etain, giving us the northern depot to spawn into. Once EWS went up, I decided to head there to see what was up, so I picked up a sniper rifle and headed to a vantage point. Peeking out from the church bell tower I saw a solitary Axis infantryman heading in from the NE, far out of range, so I headed out that way to intercept him and possibly locate the MSP.

Suddenly the eastern depot had fallen, so I headed there. On my way the central city CP fell and I was shot at - enemy sniper. He missed and I dove into a bush. I remained totally still and sure enough he soon ran past me in the bushline, obviously looking for me further on up the eastern road. As he crawled past, I dispacthed him; they'd be sure we had a defence now. I headed to the east depot and retook the radio. I headed back into town towards the city, as I passed in the shadow of the church I heard that evil cackling roar of the MP40 and fell down, badly injured, but alive. D'oh! I'd forgotten the golden rule of these low number, tense town fights - vigilance is everything - I'd neglected to check the sniper spots. Sure enough, my would-be assassin was lying exposed in the church tower. He obviously assumed I was dead, which made the wait for the clear shot even sweeter. From my position in the bush I shot him straight in the face. He would be cackling no more.

At that point the rumble of a JU52 dominated the soundscape - paratroopers. And lots of them. By now the defence at Fresnes had grown from the sparse affair and the Allies had a good crew here, headed by Tomsburg who lead the defence admirably. I RTB'd my sniper and picked up my SMG, needing now to head out to the west depot which had fallen, as had our Etain depot, which was valiantly wrestled back. All paras dispatched, including some in the AB. This was beginning to get epic. More paras, then another load. The air filled with the JU52 drone. Heading west I flanked the town, approaching the depot from the north east. Popping my head round the corner, I caught a glimpse of an Axis soldier. He fired but missed. I flung a grenade into the room but snagged on the door and the explosion killed him and just about killed me. I was so weak I struggled to recap the radio, so Skee53 capped while I guarded. Town liberated, great job Allied forces. But I know Fresnes will see more blood; it's that kind of town."
