An excerpt from the desk of the Allied Commander-in-Chief: S! Allied Players. Campaign 52 is moving along. We are currently on day 17 of the campaign and we are quickly approaching Tier 3. The axis performed a superb breakthrough last week. I give credit where credit is due. But I want to give credit to the allies in their magnificent performance in closing that breach and pushing them back where they started. S! to all those that participated.

My first report as Assistant Game Manager with TOPD, and I can tell you that this game is best seen from both sides.  I have played with both axis and allied players, talking about their equipment and this one-of-a-kind game.  Many players talk about their equipment and see the other side’s equipment as being stronger or different and somehow…better.  What most of these players don’t have:  Experience playing the other side’s equipment in a real campaign.

How would I describe playing the other side?  Well, there is 50% of the game you haven’t seen, there are people just like you and your squad mates playing on the other side who are just as good and just as bad as you.  But there are aircraft, tanks, trucks, guns, and planes that ARE different and make you play the game in a VERY different way.  Each equipment set is so realistically modeled, that this game is completely shaped by veterans using different equipment to the advantages modeled in that side’s kit (ships are identical for both sides).

Why does your enemy act different?  Because they have to – their equipment is different, requiring different tactics and those tactics may even add up to a different strategy entirely for the other side.

Summary:  “We have met the enemy, and they is us.”  --Pogo.   It’s amazing to try both sides, and I encourage players and squads to do this and have ‘fun’.  It’s far better than any ‘patch’ can be.

S! Allied Players

Campaign 52 is moving along. We are currently on day 17 of the campaign and we are quickly approaching Tier 3. The axis performed a superb breakthrough last week. I give credit where credit is due. We are vigorously building HC. We have a lot of new applicants and we need more. Our goal is to provide the playerbase with a command that will not only strive to lead them to victory but also ensure they have fun playing.  AHC Trainer Fwdiii and his team are doing a tremendous job in that area.

We are working on a communication system that if it works will allow HC officers to communicate better with squads and other players. We want to be able to inform them of upcoming ops and any other information that we can. Our goal is to improve the communication all around inside and outside the forums. We have a little ways to go in this area but that is our goal.

Operation Trek East was not a total success last weekend, but we didn’t expect that great breakthrough the axis gave us. It was successful in that we motivated and directed the playerbase in closing those gaps. I have to call out the exploits of Mr2 and Dfadd in that area. They made that closure possible with their work last Friday night as well as the work of others not mentioned.

We have another operation planned this weekend. Please check your player secure forums for details. Get in game and work with you leaders to make this a success.

Below is a list of promotions and awards. All the players involved are deserving. I give a big S! to those below.
