An excerpt from the desk of the Axis Commander-in-Chief: S! Team Axis.  What a great week full of impressive battles. We have moved forward at an impressive rate and victory is within our reach. Congratulations to all who fought for the Axis cause this past week your skills on the battlefield were impressive. I have seen may posts on the great job Officers and Players alike have done this past week on communications and it has been a pleasure to read this good job to you all.  Please continue to work on FB's, mark targets and communicate to ensure our continued advancement West as we enter week 5 of this Campaign.

TOPD on TV!!!!

Well, sort of.

www.livestream.com/betopd

Select that link and watch TOPD pwn all who stands before him. I’m on most evenings (US East Coast Time) and most weekends. Heck, you might even see a surprise or two.  (Just kidding Doc).

1.30.3 was released last night that squashed a few irritating bugs.  One of my favorites was the S-35 “shake bug”.  Boy, am I glad that’s gone.  Trucks and haulers were also audited for steep grades which should make all you truck drivers happy.

Allies are fighting hard and continue to give Katonka and her axis forces difficulty.

Axis forces continue to battle all along the front and are making small but bloody gains.  The winner of this campaign is still in doubt so log in, have fun and fight for your side!

AAR of the Week:

Weekend RO AAR Aug 20~22

August 20, 2009
Thursday late afternoon I logged in.
Maub area was ours all except for Avens, we had Soigines and Mons and a nice big hole to the NW, but not much ability to move that way without opening our front. To the south is was swinging back and forth, no real advantage either side.

In the north the Allies took Will and Crom, went all the way to Helleviteous, and cutoff the entire Zees, with Allied Div in area, the only way we could take back was with another division, which we did not have. Biggest issue we had was no links to Antwerp or Brussels, they had full air power.

I ordered no operations in North (except Kalmthout with link to Antwerp), work on Avens, attempt to get Valencines, and cap behind Brussels to Enghien and Ninove. Allies retaliated very hard. We nearly lost Enghien, and all other attacks failed.

Stalemate sums up that day.

August 21, 2009
Friday I noted the allied 12id in river town moved around Zand, clear or Willemstad and Cromstien, and with only naval brigades in the towns it would be relatively easy to cap and retake, which we did in short order take Moer, Dord, and Werk in short order, freeing up 2 KM for other places. However the allies reacted by again moving 12id back into Will and Crom, and start a campaign of taking the lower Zees, target Vlissingen. We attacked Wuustwezel and Etten. Wuustwezel we could not take after heavy fighting, but Allies retreated from Etten.

Links to Antwerp and Brussels established with Lier and Leuven

In center Allies went after Maubauge. After another attack at Avens failed, they countered on Berlaimont, and some hard fighting later allies took, the battle was on Maubauge, and would be like that for days later.

At that point I approved AO’s on Antwerp and Brussels to kick flags, both successful. Allied countered with AO on Gembloux. After that petered out approved AO on Wavre.

In south it was still stagnant, although Warmerville and Reims was now ours, IIRC. Still not in position to make gains here.

Allies capped Zees all the way to Kamperland, but for whatever reason did not go Veere and Vlissingen.

By very early GMT all the towns around Brussles capped, Axis brigade at Ninove. . By Saturday morning my time Brussels was ours.

August 22, 2009
(I can’t remember some of the details that happened over night...) Saturday the Euro time made some huge gains. All towns around Brussels, and Brussles itself taken. Same with Antwerp.
AND they reestablished a link to Vlissingen, along the south chain (5 towns north chain still Allied) the big happy surprise was the 12id trapped in Steenbergen!

There was AO and taking of Val-de- Vesle. AO on, I think Zandvilet, and, one other.

We started off retaking the northern river towns and Zees.  I was getting requests by various people about AO on Antwerp, and I denied.

There was a moment of indecision by everyone on the next AO, and I wanted them to be by the Antwerp area. It was rather poor by all, including me, but AO’s placed, and with the last link in north (Haamstead), I put the AO on that one with Tempse being the next AO right after Haam capped (and to be ready in Tempse). When AO was free, we lost FB to Tempse, and Allied began defense of FB just as we started to move in on it, pre AO.

Reims became an allied P1, it seems. We had KM and linking brigade, so started a rigorous defense of town. This lasted for well over an hour until we completely capped it. AF AI fixed and strong protection of town caused Allies to give up, but AO still up. Initially we had 1 KM, then 2, but then had to move one out, at which point Allies went after Reims again, and again kicked out.

About this time I was fending off a number of AO Ant requests, so I started broadcasting a simple message. "Cap Tempse, and you will get that AO on Antwerp" on side, 10, and 20 channels. After at least 1 hour of battle (more like 2), Tempse was ours, and word was sent to prepare for Antwerp. Momentum was building to Antwerp from all sides, so when the AO was dropped everyone was pouring in. When the CP radios where up the caps came fast. About 20 min from AO all but CAB and main Dock was captured! Allied fought hard and took back, but it was inevitable who would win. We did lose Reims and Val-de-Vesle, but no on really noticed those insignificant towns from all that Wooting.

Rock on, Axis!
