1.31!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow. Screenshots, video’s, feedback? What a great week. Well, sort of. This week saw the conclusion of campaign 54, intermission, and the start of our 55th campaign today. Allies put up a good fight but fell a little short. Congratulations to both sides for an excellent campaign. We have some Campaign AAR’s for all of you. And here you go. Sorry this is so short but I need to get back into the closed beta so I can help get this launched faster. FROM THE DESK OF THE ALLIED COMMANDER IN CHIEF: From: Temporary AHC HQ, floating somewhere in the English Channel To: Allied Forces S! Troops It is with a mixture of great regret and enormous pride that I am forced to inform my brave fighting forces that we have been forced to abandon our defenses and retreat to the relative safety of the United Kingdom and western France. The precarious defensive line we hoped to hold and counter from last week could not hold in the face of irresistible Axis momentum. The retreat westwards is a great sadness to me personally and to my AHC officers, but the performance of the Allied player base in the face of such tough conditions fills me with a pride that shall remain undiminished even if the great dirty Axis hordes cross the Channel and stand unopposed atop Big Ben. You have fought well; you have resisted every inch; you have bled them as you yourselves have bled. For this I salute you and you all retreat westwards with my thanks. All I have to offer is my gratitude at those who remained true to the core over the last few weeks, although I would also urge those who wish to turn a sore defeat into a pulsating victory to consider joining the Allied fight in a more formal capacity. Please look to sign up to Allied Secure Forum access and please consider joining Allied High Command. We are in need of strong, brave soldiers who can right this wrong and kick the Axis hordes out of Western Europe once and for all. Can you lead, and be led? Can you command and remain in control? Can you lose, and yet still win? If so, you belong in AHC. Help us. Support us. Join us. AAR 8/30/09 1400 CDT - 8/31/09 0200 CDT Arementieres – Gravelines – Watten – Beurges – Ardres – Calais Lille was under very heavy attack when I came on line. The enemy push had created something of puncture in our lines, and I believed that an assault on their flanks would be significant threat and force them to commit anything and everything required ensuring their forces were not cut off. I requested permission to assault Armentieres, and was given the go ahead. We attacked with 2 tanks and 4 or 5 infantry, and moved in fast and captured most of their Command Posts in minutes. The Axis realizing the danger sent an ever increasing number of men and machines to recapture the town and guarantee that we could not cut off their forward thrust off at the rear. For the next three hours, a handful of men working from the 1st Infantry Division, made as much noise as possible, harassed the enemy at this location, and forced the Germans to employ approximately 20 men in defense of the town. It is believed that this action took some pressure off the Lille defense over this period of time. At approximately 1700 to 1800 I had to leave the game for family business and then returned. Watten was under attack from Beurges, but I arrived early on. We gathered what defenders we could, and held for the first 30 minutes very effectively destroying MSPs and defending CPs with 2 tanks, several AAA and a hand full of infantry. The EWS still indicated that we were under attack but all had grown quiet. I ordered all our forces to advance on the Fire Base. We found it heavily defended and fought hard for about 1 hour and destroyed it. We then advanced to our new Fire Base and set up defenses. About this time Gravelines fell, and I was called to Ardres where enemy armor and infantry was moving in. We had ATGs setting up and AAA, and some air support early on, and we took a heavy toll in Panzers in the first 15 minutes. Meanwhile, a few infantry supported by a couple tanks mustered and we counter attacked their Firebase. Within the hour, Ardres was secure, and I requested an AO on Gravelines while we had the men and material at hand to attack before the enemy could respond. The request was denied due to too many objectives already in use. So we held and defended the Ardres Graveline Fire Base. About an hour later Calais EWS went off and I reported there. I requested a couple scout cars to move through the city and southeast of the city, to locate and destroy their MSPs before they set up. For the next few hours we played cat and mouse with the enemy pre camp, and prevented them from getting set up. Eventually, we destroyed their firebase and Calais was for the moment secure. Soon Ardres EWS went off again, and it was by now the low pop period on Sunday Night Monday morning. I went with a man named Simpson, and we destroyed the Ardres Gravelines FB. We then defended the FB for about an hour destroying an Opel, and killing 2 sappers. The sappers had damaged the Vehicle spawn heavily. I placed an AO on Gravelines, and moved in alone. In the next 10 minutes I captured all but one CP in the City while slinking around two 232’s. Soon the enemy brought some infantry up, and I was caught capturing the final CP before heading to the AB. At this time, I retired to rest. S! Sdwells
