An excerpt from the desk of the Axis Commander-in-Chief: S! Team Axis. Well the last week has been eventful, Team Axis were declared Victorious in Campaign 54 (WOOT!!!) and we have started the battle for Campaign 55and I am pleased to stay on as your CinC for this next campaign.
Axis CinC Katonka and Allied CinC GreatOne deserve a special mention this week. Both are special CinC’s, with Katonka as our first female CinC and GreatOne as our first player to rise to Theater Command on both sides. Also, both players have given much in the roles to become CinC, and have simply been an amazing set of leaders – keeping both sides fighting fair and fighting hard. As a former CinC myself, I understand what it takes to get to the CinC position, and the work involved. When we have 2 CinC’s functioning so well together the game is better for the players, the officers and for CRS.
For all you both have done, and all you are doing, CRS thanks you. I know the players are happy. Congratulations GreatOne and Katonka. FROM THE DESK OF THE AXIS COMMANDER IN CHIEF: S! Team Axis. Well the last week has been eventful, Team Axis were declared Victorious in Campaign 54 (WOOT!!!) and we have started the battle for Campaign 55and I am pleased to stay on as your CinC for this next campaign. Allies came on strong from start of Map and the fighting has been punishing with some epic battles as we fight to hold our positions. We have lost ground but I am confident that Team Axis will survive this first week. Trust in our Officers as they continue to try to set up the best lines for defense, as we get flags in position the map should stabilize and through communication and teamwork we shall continue the fight West. AAR of the Week: 6th September 23:30hrs - 7th September 0230hrs. Took map from outgoing officer and began setting current defenses as P1. Set about withdrawing the Longwy objective. Allied were pushing hard on Waalwijk having moved an infantry flag into Oosterhout, with ews going off in Dussen and Dordrecht also. The enemy had another infantry flag in Gilze, HQ in Breda and Baarle Hertog was left vacant. Seeing a chance to the save Waalwijk and force Allied to move, and the added chance to keep Breda on a one hour timer should Waalwijk fall, the plan formed thus: I set a softcap on Baarle Hertog, which was taken in rapid time, I immediately shifted a brigade into this town and AO'd Breda - rapid deployment and a good rush of boots got this town off to a great start. Allied responded, withdrawing the AO on Waalwijk which was in -serious- danger of falling. [A word of commendation to all troopers defending it, was heroic!] I pressed, making Breda the P1 momentarily to gain numbers, and pushing EWS heavy. Allied withdrew from Gilze, which I also AO'd using my spare AO. We took this town, and I moved forward again, further buffering S-Hertogenbosch, sending a brigade into Gilze. Severe attrition and pressure by our forces mean't Allied must drastically shuffle it's northern flank, this in turn forced them to give up Oosterhout. The moment this town was empty, I applied the spare AO to it and this town was cleared up shortly after also, with many soldiers marching from a defensive MSP over 2.5k's away to keep the town contested! Once this was achieved, I withdrew the Breda AO and began preparing for a strike south. I handed the map to KJ shortly after with no further gains or losses during my shift.
