An excerpt from the desk of the Axis Commander-in-Chief: Well you have made MOM proud.  What an amazing turn in events this last week.  To quote Imbrutus " When allied forces had invaded and pressed us hard with our backs against the wall of our beloved fatherland, the few, the bold, rose above to lead our axis forces westwards and make the allies pay for knocking on our doorsteps of Koln and Dusseldorf."

This week we have witnessed on of the biggest reversals of fortune in quite awhile.  At one point I was so convinced that the allies would role up the south that I was about ready to contact the CinC’s and have them start preparing plans for campaign 56.  The axis have made huge gains in the south only to have two divisions cutoff and routed on Thursday.  Wow.

Earlier this week I posted a clarification about dropping paratroops inside forward base infantry spawn.  The rule is pretty simple.  Under no circumstances are infantry of any type, or for any reason, allowed inside forward base infantry spawn. We made this decision based upon player feedback and the desire to make the situation easier to manage for our Game Masters.

Now, onto the side reports.

FROM THE DESK OF THE AXIS COMMANDER IN CHIEF:

S! Team Axis.
Well you have made MOM proud.  What an amazing turn in events this last week.  To quote Imbrutus " When allied forces had invaded and pressed us hard with our backs against the wall of our beloved fatherland, the few, the bold, rose above to lead our axis forces westwards and make the allies pay for knocking on our doorsteps of Koln and Dusseldorf."  Axis Officers could not have done this with out the dedication, relentlessness and communications of Team Axis.  However we have not achieved victory yet  the Allies forces are fighting back and and I request that you all stay vigilant and continue the push west.

AAR of the Week:

Map Oic AAR: Sunday 13th of September 13.00 - 00.00 GMT

Took Map OIC from Desouzaj. We were just about to route brigs Euschkirchen. Started by making sure that would happen and with some very nice teamwork from Axis players we managed to pull it off. With Allied one armor and infantry brigade less on eastern started shifting brigades back to reinforce evenings breakthrough.

Houffalize pretty much under attack through out the day. We had some random attacks for the next few hours because I was gearing up for the breakthrough later and that ment moving a lot of brigades from east to west and not being able to help AOs.

When Axis squads become to gather numbers we needed to get Bertrix online so that we had a fighting chance for the breakout. We started Neufchateau AO but as expected it got heavy defence. Decided put some steam to Bastogne attack as they were low on supplies after long fight to regain Houffalize and it offered a link to Wilz which was their main source of air supplies. Bastogne AO was doing great and drew a lot of defenders as well as EA from Neufchateau. Neufchateau was lead by KGW and finally controlled AB and we capped it. It was time to start on our main objective which was to to cut through Haybes. XoomXoom was working on eastern soft caps to gain links to AFs and got navy to Cochem.

When squads were ready to move on Haybes  I started moving brigs early to Gedinne to get the timers rolling. they only had one infantry in Haybes with HQ as backup. We had 2 full divisions against it and with squads attacking, there was no way we could fail. We took Haybes in about 30-40 mins and moved 2.1 and 2.3 there and rest were waiting on timers. Started on Revin next. Allied didn't seem to mind too much about us getting Haybes. But we were slow. After a little spanking people finally started taking Revin seriously and we took it. Started on Montherme and Rocroi softcaps. Those we got a bit faster. Allied try to distract by hitting Ramet and Ciney but it was ok since it was 1vs1 on Ramet with 17.3 ready to cover Liege and also 4PD was already otw from east so it could in emergency help Ciney. We started Sedan AO with squads next. My aim was to attrit those division while they were returning from east through Sedan so that they wouldn't have that much supplies to breakout from possible encirclement and ofcourse slow their moves a bit.

Unfortunately it seemed Sedan AO draw most of our player base from the main focus which was to soft cap link to Laon as soon as possible through Chimay-Hirson-Vervins-Marle-Laon. We spent too much time on those soft caps. Eventually we got Chimay and managed to move in there with 2.3 and 2.1 while 2.2 and 2HQ moved to Rocroi and 1.3 and 1HQ to Revin and 1.2 followed by 1.1 to Haybes. Used 27ID with 33ID to hit sedan. 4 Pd was still on the move while 16ID was covering Ciney/Ramet. 3PD was empty because of Houffalize DO/Bastogne AO. Pulled Bastogne/Gouvy AOs to get more people to work on the soft caps.

Also started Couvin AO and Givet with aim to secure our breakthrough spearhead. Logged out and left map to Csudet. Glad to see Tmanusa on that map when I woke to work this morning, good job on Mariemburg which made much less of an risk to keep that breakthrough alive.

Anyways we are getting back on game. Lets focus on those gains while they easy and worry about the east caps when lines settled, there is plenty of time for that later. Just take some key towns.

Thank you to Kalma for this AAR.
