An excerpt from the desk of the Allied Commander-in-Chief: What a week it has been. This week has seen the map move back and forth at an astonishing speed.  Earlier in the week saw the Allied forces march their way to the Axis factories.  Apparently we woke up the devil and the Axis forces hit back hard for our incursion into their territories.

This week we have witnessed on of the biggest reversals of fortune in quite awhile.  At one point I was so convinced that the allies would role up the south that I was about ready to contact the CinC’s and have them start preparing plans for campaign 56.  The axis have made huge gains in the south only to have two divisions cutoff and routed on Thursday.  Wow.

Earlier this week I posted a clarification about dropping paratroops inside forward base infantry spawn.  The rule is pretty simple.  Under no circumstances are infantry of any type, or for any reason, allowed inside forward base infantry spawn. We made this decision based upon player feedback and the desire to make the situation easier to manage for our Game Masters.

Now, onto the side reports.

FROM THE DESK OF THE ALLIED COMMANDER IN CHIEF:

S! Combined Allied forces.
Campaign 55 Week 2
What a week it has been.
This week has seen the map move back and forth at an astonishing speed.  Earlier in the week saw the Allied forces march their way to the Axis factories.  Apparently we woke up the devil and the Axis forces hit back hard for our incursion into their territories.
To win a map you have to “own” the percentage of the towns. This was clearly shown by the allied forces concentrating of not only the populated towns but taking the softcaps on the way through.  Although we have assumed some strategic defensive positions and have lost some ground from earlier in the week we are nowhere done!

Late this week although the lines had been pushed west we still owned the majority of the soft caps and towns on the map.  This situation proved to be a thorn in the side of the Axis forces not allowing them to maneuver as they wish.  We certainly made them work for every inch of ground.

This week saw a major test for the combined allied forces and I was personally really pleased with the player base interaction in the game and the actions that needed to be taken.  I have had the pleasure over the last week speaking with some of you over TS and in game about strategies and the game in general...  Great to see!  Let’s keep the communications going.

Make sure you check the forums regularly for updates and upcoming operations.  Don’t forget to post your ideas or email them up to HC.  AHC acknowledges that a lot of you out there are veterans at this game and have a world of experience to add.

This week’s AAR is from one of our fine AHC officers ~dag2011~.

It’s a fair few hour’s work for a busy guy logging in and taking the map.

S! AHC!!
Took the map for a good amount of time today.  Haven't been able to do that for a long time, so it was nice. We did accomplish a lot. I logged on and took a handover from the current Map OIC.  The first thing I saw was that Vervins, frontline town at the time, only had an HQ defending it, while the axis had almost a whole division or more standing by to attack it. Of course they did, we held on as long as we could. During our defense I immediately took to pulling our brigades to the east back across the Laon-Marle line. If they broke through at Vervins and then shot straight south, we would have lost a whole division. Anyways, I moved several brigades towards Laon while the rest went up towards Marle to start setting up a defense.

We didn't go as far as getting a brigade in Marle before the Axis finally capped Vervins. But, we weren't lost yet. The Axis were extremely slow at responding to this sudden breakthrough they just had. It took them about 10-15 minutes to move brigades into Vervins. I did place an AO on Vervins, we were close to capping it, but they finally put a few brigades in. But we were way ahead of them, we had set up an early defense at Marle, ATGS, DMSPS, Tanks, and inf were all ready for a fight, which the axis gave us.

We held out long enough to finally get brigades in. While we were focused there, the Axis tried to swing around behind us and cut us off at Laon, which only had an armored brigade in it, but we stopped them at Dizy and Lislet. A lot of our attention was to the south, but in the north, we were holding a good distraction attack on Tern with only the 2ND Armored brigade. 2Ab was getting low on supply, and I began shuffling some brigades up there to help cover it. I logged before I could completely get that done.

When I did log, we were holding a good attack on Vervins with 2 divisions, and we were holding them off from our rear. Overall, I think the Allies had several victories. We stopped the Axis from breaking through in the south, and we launched a counter-attack against them, which was succeeding for the longest time.
The Allies had it all tonight, we pawned the Axis, taught them a lesson they won't soon forget:

THE ALLIES ARE STILL IN THIS GAME!!!!!

ALLIED PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Peepers – Allied player of the week is going to one of our friends visiting from the other side. Peepers from coming over from Axis this may with the rest of 3PzG has immediately settled in and got on with the job at hand.  He has rallied their squad and subsequently others have followed suit.  It has been a great effort and peepers have been vocal in the game and forums rallying the troops.  Well done and hope you stick around for as long as you can.

ALLIED OFFICER OF THE WEEK:
Bozo312 – For his outstanding leadership.  Leadership is not just giving orders, it’s how you interact with others as well to lead them.  Bozo312 has constantly shown his skills as an AHC officer not only running the map but interfacing with the Players as well.

I would like to thank all players on behalf of AHC for their efforts over the last week.  As stated before the map has been swinging wildly this week and you have all reacted well.  Now lets knuckle down and give them some grief!  We can’t do this without your commitment.
