AAR of the Week:

During TS3 today, the Axis forces rallied behind a very small number of officers and player volunteers to force a break in the southern pocket around Mazagran and Juniville.
In the center of the line, valiant defenders at Maubeuge faced 7 Brigades and fought the enemy to a stand still over 5 hours of solid defense, teamwork and courage.

To these brave soldaten, I am proud to award the 'BATTLE HONOR BADGE: MAUBEUGE 55' 
 
The stalemate was broken with a cohesive attack on Mazagran. Players performed admirably and communicated clearly and well. The town was swiftly taken, with the Allied forces suffering heavy casualties before withdrawing and the advance began.
Elements of the Luftwaffe, Fallschirmjager and Heer worked in conjunction to bring down several key FB's and after a short but fierce battle Juniville was captured, along with the unoccupied towns of Suippes and Betheniville.

For actions in and around the town of Juniville, I am proud to bestow upon the veterans of the Battle of Juniville the 'BATTLE HONOR BADGE: JUNIVILLE 55'.
 
A fierce battle for the AB in Juniville claimed many lives in the name of the Fatherland. I spread word amongst the brigades that the soldier who won through and successfully capped the Army Base in Juniville, would recieve a personalised citation for their brave actions.

I am proud to award to MANNI88 (t.b.c - i forgot!?) the 'BATTLE HONOR 'CAPPERS' BADGE: JUNIVILLE 55' 

Finally, perhaps the most epic battle yet this campaign.
Axis forces advanced upon Warmerville. Forward Bases were a veritable hot-spot of enemy forces, soldiers having to attempt glider-based sapper assaults in the end to take them down.
Axis forces fought hard, but against a tremendous spawn delay [60 sec!] it was near impossible for troops to combat the flood of infantry rushing from their AB's and spawnables to retake any depots we claimed. AB's changed hands, with Axis twice coming within 3 seconds of owning both AB's and all depots, Allied forces 'simul-capping' the opposite AB to keep their scant hopes alive.
Both sides fought hard, using everything from their supply pool, mortars, rifles, SMG's, grenadiers, all depleted at one point! The soldiers held on. Fighting bravely, they defended til they dropped one by one, holding the town contested long enough to retake another AB! By now reinforcements were coming in via the second spawnable, 3rd Kampfgruppe of the 3rd Panzer Division had moved into Betheniville for support, knowing full well it only had about 10 rifles and 3 trucks left at the time. Still Axis fought on, playing a game of 'chicken' with brigade supply, hoping Allied would withdraw from town and concede, opening the way westward! The FB in enemy hands, both AB's were now ours, and the enemy were spawning in numbers from a depot that was fast becoming a massacre to approach. Axis players, with no hope of reinforcement fought on! Marking, covering, communicating, assisting and KILLING as a unit.
When all seemed lost, Opels began appearing from the trickle supply, 3.1 was within range at Juniville! 3rd Division HQ even lent a hand, though it too could offer only 5-10 rifles! The thud of boots as we assaulted the final depots, the screams of the dead and dying, shouted contacts, cursing, praying all vied with one another against hearts pounding in desperate expectation as reports came in of the depot secure and under control... 70%... 80%.... .... ... 100%!!
Cheers as word swept through the ranks, against all odds with perhaps only 50 rifles to spare in the entire 3rd Division, Axis secured the south and set up preliminary defenses. The soldiers who fought today at Warmeriville should be remembered for their dedication and enthusiasm against incredible odds.

I am proud to award the participants and veterans of The Battle of Warmeriville, the 'BATTLE HONOR BADGE: WARMERIVILLE 55'.
