An excerpt from the desk of the Allied Commander-in-Chief: Not to count our chickens before they hatch… But! I smell Rooster! Another great week in game. You have all leapt to the challenges thrown at us all week. Well done to all. This week saw the some hard won battles as the Axis lines were compressed. Also I know you all had fun with the bouncing 3Pz off the map on a daily basis. I know I did. As I write this report our stats are as follows… Allied @ RDP 2 days, full production. Axis RDP @ 14 Days, 27% production. Allies hold 85% of the Terrain. All them annoying softcaps are now cleaned up.
FROM THE DESK OF THE ALLIED COMMANDER IN CHIEF: S! Allies! ** Nous vaincrons cette carte !!!! ** Not to count our chickens before they hatch… But! We are nearly there! So let’s all dig deep and finish this off and get some well deserved “Intermission Time”. All going well by the time this report is released we shall be in full “Par-tay” Mode! But in case we are not quite done… Lets push it this weekend! But have no fear! No time for me to relax. Even while we are fighting our way to the end of this map I have been spending time with the Senior AHC and we have been finalizing our Map for next Campaign. We shall be ready to go for Campaign #56 early and once again as a Combined Allied Team devastate our opponent. Now get out there and shoot something! AAR of the Week: AAR - Defense of Hasselt 10-25-09 ________________________________________ TO: Allied High Command From: Bulldog, 4eGRD XO Date: October 26, 2009 RE: AAR – Defense of Hasselt – 10/25/2009 Overview of Defensive Operation Logging in at approximately 18:00 CDT, and checked with the MapOIC (Jamm40) and AHC. Hasselt was under heavy assault, and I immediately went there to assist in the defense. Initial Onsite SITREP Upon arrival, the situation was less than ideal, heavy EWS was three FB’s where in Axis and in position to attack Hasselt, and most of the northern, and both spawnable depots where under enemy control. The south AB was under serious pressure, as the Genk enemy spawnable depot is very near, and under Axis control. At this point, defenses where organized and missions created from the Northern depots. Details of Operation I spawned in from Hasselt-Diest mission, and immediately began re-capture of northern depots. While directing other to the spawns, me and another player went to secure Hasselt City, which was liberated at 18:32. After securing the depot, we defended the flag until I was killed by another EI. I spawned back in and promptly killed the EI, while in process of re-capturing Hasselt City. During this hour, the enemy presence continued to grow, and the northern depots would change hands many times. I secured defenders in the spawnable depots, but the enemy AFVs and INF streaming from the southeast was over-bearing. We also placed infantry defenders in the likely EI advancement zones, into the northern areas. A few LMGs and Grenadiers where sent out to take out EMSP’s and EATG’s, which where deployed very close. Realizing that Hasselt was in jeopardy of being lost, with three enemy FB’s attacking it, I reached out to Allied Squads, to enlist aid to get the FB’s Allied. The 13th Infantry Regiment took the call, and immediately organized a successful FB attack, starting on Helchteren FB. Helchteren FB was taken undefended by Axis forces, and while the 13th moved to the Genk FB, I setup an FB Defense Mission, and requested FB Defenders. Genk FB was also taken undefended, and I left Broddi in charge of the Halchteren FB defense, I went to the Genk FB, and created a defense mission there. The 13th went ahead and moved to the river to swim across and attack the Bilzen FB. By this time, the captured depots in Hasselt where reclaimed, as the flood of enemy infantry into the town was stopped. The Axis forces, realizing that their attack on Hasselt had been spoiled by there failure to defend FB’s, reacted in two ways. For whatever reason, they pulled the brigade from Helchteren? This made that FB no longer spawnable, and we left one defender (Broddi) to keep watch. They then immediately pulled forces from attacking Hasselt and setup defenses at the Bilzen FB, and attacked the Genk FB. The Genk FB would be a hard fought defense, as we where almost immediately camped by a Stugg and a 4G, and an EMSP showed up very quickly. The 13th (south of the FB, near the river) was able to scare away the ET’s, with the threats of being sapped, and the 6 defenders at the Genk FB where able to fight off the enemy sappers, with only two charges going off on the VEH spawn. By this time, the 13th Infantry Regiment had moved across the river, and was able to sneak into the Bilzen FB, although heavily defended, and destroy it! BY 20:30, the attack on Hasselt had dwindled significantly, as INF EWS was then light, and the only heavy remaining attackers where the leftover enemy AFV’s. Summary Although the enemy AO on Hasselt would remain “up” for another hour or so, we held the FB’s and Hasselt would not come under assault again, while I remained online. As usual, it was a pleasure to be part of this very fun Allied defense! Mention In Dispatches: The following players are commended for answering the call for FB defenders, which enabled us to hold Hasselt. These players have been awarded the "FB Defense Award" Foszter Negrotron Granit2 Cabby Spartan83 Broddi The following squad is highly commended for answering the call to take all three of the Hasselt FBs, as well as defending the final Bilzen FB afterward. 13th Infantry Regiment The following player is commended for exceptional leadership in directing his squad during a 87 minute FB busting spree, resulting in relieving the pressure on Hasselt, and effectively ending the enemies ability to prosecute the attack.
