An excerpt from the desk of the Axis Commander-in-Chief:It has been a rough week, but that is no excuse to give up! "We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender."
-Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill

Ahhhh.  The relaxing pace of Tier 0 is here again. The fighting is just as intense, but vehicle speeds, Aircraft speeds, and armaments make the battle a little slower, a little more in-your-face.  Often, High Commands are resting their top players, especially after a long map with a drawn out end-game.  Nevertheless, Tier 0 presents some issues this campaign.  The Allies hate the Stuka.   It kills so easily with a big bomb and dives straight down. The Axis hate the Matilda tank and mildly despise the  Char B1 bis tank.  The 88mm Axis ATG severely dominates from any good setup…but dies quickly when spotted.  Both  sides feel the other dominates. The kill ratio remains close to 1:1 for the entire Tier 0.  Neither side has a decisive equipment advantage.

What does happen, is that the newer High Command have to take over an intense map state.  A lot of smaller tanks attacking a city, a commander panics, moves an HQ in, fails to move a brigade out and suddenly – enemy break-out.

Tier 1 will see longer-ranged guns and faster tanks maneuvering and counter-attacking.  More experienced commanders logging in more often and for longer hours, and very likely… a swing in momentum.  Watch for it and log in with your favorite team to see what you can do to swing the battle your way.

FROM THE DESK OF THE AXIS COMMANDER IN CHIEF:

S!

It has been a rough week, but that is no excuse to give up!

"We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender."
-Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill

Lack of Pacific Time zone officers, that is the primary cause for the recent losses.  Reports are that during the last few nights we have as few as 2 officers in game trying their best to move supply and direct the players, and simply they where overwhelmed.  Looking at the map over time you can see Axis brigade are nearly stationary while Allied brigades shift all the way up and down the line.  This game requires someone to order those moves and it is telling when you see little movement.

The GM’s have been helping alleviate the manpower shortage, but it does not fill the void.  Anyone who plays during the Pacific time is urgently needed, and Team Axis will put the maximum effort to train you and guide you to the process of being an Officer in Charge!

Team Axis is also taking steps to insure that harassment of Officers will not happen and there is plenty of help when officers need it.  Everyone was new to being an officer once, and everyone has made a mistake, but it is also a game so there is nothing wrong with mistakes and everyone is ready to help.  The only bad move is one you do not make.

While we have losses during Pacific time, Team Axis has been able gain some during our stronger times.

Command Channels:

Axis players, we have 4 specific channel for the branches, and an optional channel for Fallschirmjaeger (ch 11) for coordinating major paratroop drops.  The Ops channel is there for key attacks, so check that from time to time.  We ask you to keep these and Ops channel strictly for mission related communication.  Use Side, Squad, or another radio channel for chitchat.

10 – Heer
11 – FJ (when needed)
20 – LW
30 – KM
33 - Squad coordination

AAR of the Week:

12th November

(I) AO'd Longwy as a Mole op and Esch as an easy cap to get the PB up and rocking.

Put the spare AO on Wiltz, starting with a para drop, we almost had the town, but the allies were lighting fast and MS were too few and too late. I then pulled Longwy to AO Houffalize, hoping to take some heat out of Wiltz but, the Allies were really really attached to Wiltz, so I endeavoured to encourage the PB to attrit eq.

When we eventually got a third AO it was set on Tuntange due to players requesting it. I really wanted to use it on either Chevron or Marche. But like the zombie ops from hell Tuntange just wouldn't die - everytime I got ready to pull it someone would pm me that paras or MS were on their way, so ended up pulling the Houffalize AO. I AO'd Marche hoping to then move on Hampteau and Chevron. This was how I left the map when I stepped down.

I have to say I was very impressed with the PB, players were stepping up to OIC, pming me with ideas, offering to do stuff, and when I started asking them to attrit Wiltz after attacking for hours I even saw players chiming in to back me up on side. And there was no whining on side AT ALL for HOURS.

AXIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Saphron
: A real go-getter! Some asks him to guard a CP or blow an FB, he is there before the sentence is finished, and never a question!

AXIS OFFICER OF THE WEEK:
Dario: It was a difficult choice, we have a few new officers that are brining lots of energy and activity to OKW! Dario won out with his reports, but only just.

Congratulations everyone!
