An excerpt from the desk of the Allied Commander-in-Chief: The allies started this campaign strong and moved east capping over 65% of the map. The axis forces never to be underestimated have rebounded and recapped a lot of what thay lost, at the writing of this report the allies own 54% of the map have 4 of our brigades routed to training. Your ahc are reorganizing the lines to meet the axis new found effort.

Well, another week of great battles are in the history book.  Battle-lines have stabilized around the Meuse river valley and both sides are jockeying for a positional advantage.
Your High Command officers are active and doing a good job communicating with the players at all levels and they are actively seeking more dedicated players to fill their ranks.  If you are interested in helping chart your sides course to victory contact any HC officer and they will guide you through the enrollment process.

1.31 closed beta is still rumbling along and our dedicated team of testers have been doing a great job reporting, identifying and squashing “bugs”. We are as impatient as you are to get this out the door so you can enjoy our latest release.

Now, onto the side reports.

FROM THE DESK OF THE ALLIED COMMANDER IN CHIEF:
via
Keysie Chief of Staff

The allies started this campaign strong and moved east capping over 65% of the map. The axis forces never to be underestimated have rebounded and recapped a lot of what thay lost, at the writing of this report the allies own 54% of the map have 4 of our brigades routed to training. Your ahc are reorganizing the lines to meet the axis new found effort. The spirit of the allied forces will not be broken we will prevail against this axis treat, get in game remember the basics of cp guarding and fb busting and we will push the axis back to where thay came.

AAR of the Week:

Campaign 56 day 16
Map OIC: Karelean
Time- 0500 1100 - Monday 16th Nov 2009 Server Time
XO: None (Including Two Hours Solo)
Took map from: --SYSTEM-- (No other HC online)
Gave map to: Bluekill

Assisting HC - Bunneh for a period at Havelange as OIC
-------
MAIN AO / DO's

Well I went out for a 5-10 minute smoko, and came back to find NO other HC online... the 5-6 that were there had vanished... Id sworn I was not going to take map OIC for a couple of weeks at least... But well.. Circumstances dictated otherwise...

Found the Map with a DEAD AO on Metz and One spare...
Defence in Bastogne was holding...
Axis had some crazy softcapping going on again (Like last night)

Immediately moved to place a SOFT AO south and start to recap some of the ground. Axis were as far as that rude sounding town called "Piennes" or something...

So I Looked for a Hard AO, which supply wasn't going to be too badly hurt by, and Chose Diest. Pulled Metz AO Asap.

Diest worked ok for an hour and drew enough Axis players out of Bastogne to eliminate any threat there. Diest Fb fell over about the same time Bastogne got pulled by Axis...

Axis moved to "Counterattack" (We had lost almost nothing at Diest).
Axis made Several Ninja attempts at Aarschot with no luck.. one even got the town down to the AB but the defensive response was good.

With Diest Dead, Our centre had extra overlapping supply as I had shuffled the french Divisions back up towards Ciney, when 5th Infantry Brig (Brits) returned from training.

At some point in Here I threw the softcap AO at Metz (someone wanted to try kicking air flags), It actually worked quite well.. The last of the axis push of aarschot got drew to Metz, but AS we were moling with paras, not too many of our players got sucked in... What it did do was then give us a SURPLUS of players (not interested in Metz) to setup a new AO at Havelange.

Havelange was a decent AO and it lasted a LONG time 2-3 Hours before the FB finally fell, Probably due to an organised 10 man paradrop that drew numbers from what was a SCARILY low population all night. The AO was fun enough that Allied even drew a 5-6 sec spawn delay for about an hour.

Some supply of Armour was cooked from Ciney's Inf flags... but there was a spare Armour flag nearby anyway should we need to defend a counterattack.

With Havelange down, rather then defend, I moved the primary AO to Mean, and was fortunate enough to find a few to help swap the AO over and maintain attacking (I hate defending)...

Well to be honest, I soon regretted it... As I spawned in to investigate... I found the entire west hills, from the FB to town, was lined with a goodly number of 88's shredding everything. As almost the whole playerbase had moved, i was loathe to pull it (It was the only action anywhere on the map) and was praying for something to happen.
It turned out to be one of those AO's where you place it and then cringe, just wishing you can make it go away... yet doing so would just upset too many people... So you watch the spawnlist and cry... I was a sad panda...

This may sound odd but the good news:
Fortunately Nobody could be bothered running MSPS to mean and people lost some interest... As a result the FB fell over, and It was then OK for HC to allow that attack to fold... I have never been so glad to see a FB fall over

The Mean AO was on still when I handed the map to Bluekill but was Dead, I don't like placing new P1's before I am due to logoff... Not fair on the incoming MAP OIC to get a dud...

--------

Softcapping:

Well the bulk of the changeovers was here...

South:
I think we gained Jarny three times and lost it twice in the 6 hours...
Lost Thaucort twice and Gained it back both times...
Gained Piennes and twarted Axis softcapping attempts with a spawnable...
Lost Fontoy

Then North:

Gained Haampstede (Its in the zees, someone wanted to go there... meh)
Lost Roos then Regained it.
Gained Steenburgen

Had a token swipe at Broweshaven which I had no real expectations of obtaining, but again someone wanted to give it a go and found 5 paras... Such low pop... anything could happen... So what the heck I threw the AO to them...

When three AO's became available placed a token AO on william too, to keep the KM busy... with NO intent of anyone going there...

Friendly Fun Tip from recent experience: IMO When in doubt... liberally dump any spare AO's on KM towns... It gets them all antsy in their pantsy.... Ties up there players more then ours as they strangely defend with no action for hours on end...

----
After the merry go round of it all:
Gains: Steenburgen - Haampsteen - Piennes (All softcaps)
Losses: Fontoy (Softcap)
----

AXIS MOVEMENTS:

Axis used this Period to Move a LOT of flags northwards, and effectively put an entire Division into postion against Aarschot (2 Flags)

They also moved a few around in the Huy Bulge Area... (Probably to gain some stats for their famous GHC officer evalution spreadsheet)... I couldn't see any other reason.

All of it seemed to me to be a ploy to drag our flags north out of the centre through Namur... We already had a division strung out through Namur to Ciney... I decided AGAINST playing chasey... as My gut instinct tells me they want this... I am of the opionion their main push will be Ciney .. sooner or later... History Dictates axis LOVE Ciney --> Sedan breakouts.
BECAUSE it was low pop, (a really low pop), I saw no urgency to play the game and move any flags northwards, as supply under such low pop is never in danger....

Anyway I briefed Bluekill for the handover, logged, wrote this, and now Im off to bed...

So much for the two weeks of orientation before I had to do real work.... Heh .. All good
