An excerpt from the desk of the Axis Commander-in-Chief: No game gets closest to what is was like to engage in strategic bombing as this one does.
I have put a lot of effort to improve the Stragic bombing portion of the game over the years, and I like to think it has indeed improved.I was invited to join Axis HC back in June 2006 by Bluescy, telling me that I could help Strat Bombing, so I did.  For several years I remained a mid level officer, even letting the future Axis CinC Alphie move up past me.

FROM THE DESK OF THE AXIS COMMANDER IN CHIEF:

Hark, what is that I hear?
It’s the fat lady!
She’s SINGIIINNNNGGG!!!!

As she sings the final act, so I sing my final report.

I am passionate about the underdog vehicle, Level Bombers.

Well, the tide of change pushed me to the point I decided to go to the top, and make as many positive changes along the way (my proudest moment is authoring the LW Standard Operating Procedure that has helped keep LW on top of supply).   (Oh, just because I love to Strat bomb does not mean I do not like to get dirty on the ground or in the water, and I did that a lot this campaign.)

Just when it looked like it will be smooth sailing to the top, real life suddenly became very demanding and tragic (death of mother in law).  I was faced with having to retire early.

I am not the Axis.  Axis is a TEAM, and Team Axis has a really TOP NOTCH corps of leaders, worked together very well, and made for a quick and decisive victory.  It sounds cliché, but is true, I owe everything to these fine people under me, and give my sincere thanks and !S:

A quick note about my game name.
It is named after Josef František, a Czech fighter pilot who joined the FAF, and later the RAF, and for a short while was the leading Battle of Britain ace.  For the first 5 years playing I was almost always playing allied, and I have many friends there, including Ruck Rova and Cyclonx.  I just hope the ghost of František will not haunt me for using his name for the Axis side.  ;)

It was an HONOR, a Pleasure, and a life experience to be your CinC.
Take care everyone (especially those real soldiers future, present, and past), have fun, and…

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

AAR of the Week:

December 7, 2009
Most powerful unit in the game:
The Truck
Poix-de-Picradie (south of Amines) was axis, and there was no allied road block all the way to the coast town of Dieppe.  While everyone was busy in north, I secured an AO, a couple of sappers (Gman13, Jakel1?, others), and an Opel.  We go blow the FB, then cap the town.  Blow the next FB, blow that town, dragging 27ID behind us (thanks to Desouzja help). Limoer, Foucarmont, Longinieres, Evivermen, finally to Dieppe and Assigny.   While allies did some attempts to stop us, we quickly got another truck and kept right at it.

Just a couple of guys going cross country in a truck, setting up MPS and blowing FB’s.
No Panzers, no ATG, no Paras, nor LW, and we captured 6 towns in rapid succession.

Still not convinced the power of the Truck?  Think it is only good for “soft caps”?
The recent capture of Oostende, a port town with 3 brigades and navy, in one axis brigade (of 4 attacking) there was 10, count it, TEN MSP’s set up all over Oostende, completely suppressing the allies attempt to retake the city.  From my aerial vantage point, the ground was like blue ants, pouring out of virtual ant mounds.  While a few Panzers where there, it was the infantry that closed in on the AB, killing anything that tried to come out.

So, next time you plan to take something, forget the Panzers and grab a Truck (and a couple of ATG’s, never know when they come in handy)

Have fun, and Keep On Truckin’!

Frantish.  Axis CinC (soon to retire)

AXIS OFFICER OF THE WEEK:
Simenon.  Another new officer that jumped into officer boots running!  What is key about Simenon is he was very receptive to learning how to moves things in the Luftwaffe, and to get resupply missions going at the drop of the hat, to keep the LW in top form.  For that, Team Axis is proud to award Simenon the:

AXIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Gagamel:  A master of the 232.  A vehicle most will shun, he excels.  Take a look at his CS&R, and can see how much of an impact a soft-skinned 232 in a battle.  WELL DONE Gagamel!  S!

S!
