FROM THE DESK OF THE AXIS  COMMANDER IN CHIEF:

!S Axis  Forces.  What a week it has been. Both Brussels and Antwerp are in our control.  Those two towns are a feat to capture. Our hc and playerbase worked wonderfully together to achieve both of these towns. Team work is what is going to take us to victory. As a previous CinC would say “WESTWARD”

HC Recruitment:

AAR OF THE WEEK:

I cant remember who all was involved but we had noticed that Leuven was weak and fresh from our victory at Schilde, we felt we had the numbers and the advantage to take it. I think that imkharn was the MOIC that night; doing very well moving the brigs around and keeping morale high. As normal I really couldnt say who was RO, (schloss or VD?) at any rate I do remember WW being there in the mix as well voicing his normal level of addictive exhuberence, confidence and panic. We all went tearing off to take Leuven just to gain a link to Brussels to get a chance to boot the air out while we waited for brigades to move into place for another attack. While doing so we brought up a fresh brigade that had been sitting in St. Truden. I cant remember the brig but it was a spare inf brig...nice and full, towards the end of the fight. It only took maybe an hour. What we then realized was they didnt move there HQ out, they had 2 brigs in Leuven at the time. For whatever reason as we began to cap the AB they tried for a fallback, but it was TOO LATE! Anyway I don't think a fallback would have helped them; the point is that all the brigades fell to Aarshot! They had only an HQ in Warve and an HQ in Leir that they just moved back. We suddenly realized that we had 1 hour to take Brussels; it only had 2 air brigs and 1 para unit!!!!

The 3PzG grabbed as many sappers as we could from the Tienen Leuven fb before it closed and ran after the Brussels Leuven fb understanding that they couldn't spawn there. We reached the fb and a DAC proceeded at long distance to mow down many of our sappers but I and PGMARK (possible commendation) managed to get the fb down. PEEPERS (possible commendation) drove a 251 luckily and it was able to sustain hits while PGMARK reloaded to get more charges on the inf. I was gunned down in a hail of MG fire from the DAC but pgmark managed to get all his charges on and the FB was down.

Then it was a full effort to get Brussels. So many took part it would be hard to say who did what but many many selfless truck drivers and teams went into Brussels and drove around capping cps. The 3PzG setup on the AF to cap the AF Bunker to boot the air and para brigs. I was lucky enough to be able to cap that bunker with the help of much cover fire from our brave tankers and inf. I think we capped that town in under 50 mins.

About 10 mins before we took Brussels but after we had booted the brigs there, the Allies launched a very smart attack on Tienen. They had the all the CP's and had inf in the AB bunker but we had the numbers to boot them out and save ourselves from being cut off. It was a good attempt by the Allies however they lost the numbers to be effective probably after the Allied PB saw the Leuven brigs bounce the wrong way.

Thus the lesson would be...make sure you use .ne to check where your brigades are going if you are underpop and under heavy attack

Cheers,

FSG
