FROM THE DESK OF THE ALLIED COMMANDER IN CHIEF:

FROM: Rayka
RANK: Chief of Staff
DATE: 4th July 2010

Allied Status
This week has seen some intense fighting on all fronts, but specifically in the central areas of operation. The town of Ciney has changed sides frequently. The air and land battles have been truly epic, and will continue so, as the allies continue their march east.

AAR of the Week:

RE: AAR Operation Sucker Punch!

I logged into the game about 10 AM EST yesturday in hopes for my only day off from work to be a great one in game. We were underpop being an early Saturday morning and not many online yet. We were defensive but holding our ground and needed to look at ways to get on the attack as our population grew. We started by attacking Dussen in the north and with the help of 13th Inf and others we were able to bounce 2 Naval flags out of the city and cap. Shortly there after we softcapped 3 more AOs in the north gaining ground towards Axis airfields (and let me tell ya those Axis dont like losing those!). We got to Breda and hit a wall. The Axis wouldnt let us finish off that one. They were deadset on keeping those airfields active.

During this timeframe though we went from underpop to balanced. Pictboy had the map and was ready to get on the offensive. He chose Stenay as our first target and asked if i would OIC the attack. So he rallied some air guys, and i got some trucks rolling with Atgs and armor, and moved to setup. I remember driving the truck up from the west side and seeing our airforce above the town like mad bees at a beehive and we were pokin it. And yes it looked like this pic that was posted about Mouzon being taken....

It looked so nice to see all those blue tags in the air, made the ground guys happy!!! Usually its the ground guys shouting for air cover, but yesturday it was the air guys yelling for the ground teams to hurry up lmao. It didnt take long for us to cap Stenay, the Axis seemed slow on their response to the attack and let us get setup and take the city.

After Stenay went allied we wanted to keep pushing the Axis back and choose to take Montmedy next. We setup almost exactly the same as Stenay and had air above target while AO was inbound and we were bringing trucks and Atgs with armor for that south hill ZOC. I setup a Msp on the west side of the AB for a mortar team and this is just 1 sortie for me on that one....

67 Damages, only 14 kills but good kills on a 232 and alot of their Atgs/AA. But 67 damages! Thats alot of pissed off Germans lol. And thats just 1 AAR for my 1 sortie, we had several other mortars hitting the same target. Thanks to Comet77 for the resupply on mortar ammo, good job! Needless to say with that awesome air cover, a good south hill ZOC and our mortars, it kept the Axis locked and we got some Msps setup east side and capped. It didnt take long to close in on the AB and Montmedy was once again Allied.

After Montmedy, We needed Mouzon first to get an extra link for Sedan. So again we got rolling for another Allied victory. The setup went well, had some issues with supply, seemed to stall out during the middle of the attack, people questioned if it was a good target or not with supply the way it was, and other things. We pulled up an extra Inf Bde for new supply and kept on target. Chillie and others were with the mortars this time and i returned the favor by supplying those guys with rounds for a while, not sure how effective it was but soon after the Axis had to fallback due to supply issues and we got the town.

I took a short break at this point to get a bite to eat and relax a few minutes to come back and see we were on Sedan now. We had the west side capped when i was back from afk and we were pushing the east side. With some good and determined allied soldiers we were able to get a foothold on the east side, suppressed the Ab and we retook Sedan. At the same time we were capping Sedan, Hastiere was in bad shape. The Axis got the spawnable next to the Ab and actually capped the Ab, but our response from the momentum we had all afternoon came just in time. We were able to get missions up from Givet, spawn in to Hastiere and take control of the Ab bunker but we didnt cap it. We libbed all the other depots first and then capped the Ab and bounced that AO, "Epic Fail Axis!"

Awesome job to everyone for a very successful day! Thank you to the Allied Air for providing initial air cover over P1 targets, The guys (and girls, yes Wolfie69 i saw you drivin those Atgs around and setting up those Msps) driving the trucks (Genxs and others), the armor who kept on pushing up (even though you had to wait for bridges to be repaired alot) and the Inf for continued and disciplined attacks on the CPs that we needed to take the cities
