FROM THE DESK OF THE AXIS COMMANDER IN CHIEF:

This week was fun for the players. Great battles every where on the map. Ground and Air have been real busy this week. The moral is great with both players and Officers. Recruitment been good. Slots are filling and the new Officers are stepping up and doing there duties above and beyond. My staff and Senior officers have been doing great keeping up with there duties and leading in game. I have been real busy in game helping the new officers and keeping 1 step in front of the Allies. I have been playing in all branchs to support the players and officers. They seem to like seeing there Cinc fighting right along side of them. I will be doing some major OP's this comeing week.

AAR of the Week:

Date 08/05/10
Logged in around 2am CDT and around 30 minutes later assumed map from Bob5 who was logging for the night.

We were on a pretty good roll when I logged in and so it was important to keep the momentum going. We had recently repelled a massive attack on Marche and took Andenne at the same time.

Attacks: Spincourt
Defenses: Suippes, Turnhout, Verdun

ATTACKS:

Spincourt: The only attack available as the AO limit had dropped to 1 shortly after I took map. It started out slow as when the Marche DO was secure, the Allies begun their attack on Turnhout and so most players went there to defend. The AO had also been up for quite some time and the Allies had the FB from Etain. While our defenders concentrated on Turnhout, a few players along with our CinC attacked the Allied Etain FB with un-dieing persistence (despite dieing a lot). Praevus8 organized para drops on town and after an hour of trying, persistence paid off and the FB was blown Axis. At about this same time Turnhout had been liberated and so with fresh supply for Spincourt the momentum made a huge swing in our favor and we went from being on defense to being on the attack. This AO was still going when I logged.

DEFENSES:

Turnhout: The Allies, having lost the initiative at Marche, attempted to take Turnhout. They got off to a good start and captured the non-spawnable CPs in town and gave the defenders a run for their money. The EWS was Heavy/Heavy for most of the battle until after about an hour the town was finally liberated. Once that happened, focus shifted back south as we renewed our attack on Spincourt. Shortly after this, the AO was withdrawn.

Suippes: This AO was placed right as I took over Map OIC as there were still 2AOs at the time. EWS was never triggered and the attack was pulled once the AO limit dropped.

Verdun: After the Allies failed again at Turnhout, they turned their attentions towards Verdun. The Allies made a strong effort, but the North FB was soon blown Axis and so much of the Allies' efforts was split between attacking the town from their remaining FB and trying to get their FB back. This DO was still going when I logged, but looked good despite the loss of the spawn CP and the Notre Dame de Verdun.

Towns taken: None
Towns lost: None

All in all a good night for the Axis. We prevented the Allies from making any gains and soon put them on defense.
