FEAR THE WEASELS!

Greentags used to be people who wasted your favorite equipment by their endless loops of re-spawning and dying. These new people used to always give away your favorite sniping position and lead the enemy directly to your FRU. Well these days are gone. Today all new people are coming in force to take YOUR FB, with the latest squad, the Screaming Weasels!

The Screaming Weasels is a squad which new players are automatically recruited to, and where they can learn the basics of WWIIOL:Battleground Europe. This boot camp squad is run by Community Volunteers and CRS Staff with the sole purpose to show new players around, teach them how to have fun, and make them fall in love with the game like the rest of us have. If we all work together to make these people feel welcome, make them understand the value of teamwork and how important they are in any kind of mission, we can make them stick around for a long time.

Right now, there are around 100 trial accounts being created everyday. Many of these log in to the game frequently, with lots of questions and a huge urge to blast away some enemies. This is where YOU come in!  We need veteran players to help us show the Weasels around the game. To take them on various missions and teach them your special tricks on how to be the last man standing. So we now call out for any veterans without squads, or people with squads that can spare a week or so at a time for this, to join our ranks in the soon-to-be most feared squad in the game, The Screaming Weasels.

If you are interested, contact me or Motormouth right away! There are no demands on activity for this, we appreciate any hour/day/week you can spare to help guide these new players:

Once these players have learned the basics and know their way around the game, they will be encouraged to find a new squad specific to their side and branch of choice. So all you squads out there, take the opportunity to get a representative into the Weasels, talk to the players, and you might have a lot of recruits coming your way.

The Weasels is a squad for both Allied and Axis players, where recruits are encouraged to try out both sides of the coin, so veteran players and squads from both sides are welcome to help. We currently have almost 2000 players, and growing everyday. They are fresh recruits, but with some leadership they are a force that cannot be ignored. A group of players that will take your FB, your town and in the end, win the war.

Fear the Weasels!

Nice. Wish I had something like this when I first started. I'll be sure to look out for the green weasel tag to offer any advice or assistance for the new players.

Great idea CRS!
It will help the playerbase identify those players who may need help and guidance aswell as making us ( veterans ) a little more tolerant of the new guys.

Good move. Things can get quite 'emotional' when the griefing starts of the Tigers lol

Do we have to leave the squad to join the Screaming Weasels or are the teaching players in two squads at the time? Do you plan to guide the new player into a teacher talking his language too?

Great stuff!

But I hope this Weasel squad will work on one side at a time, or are there two weasel squads?

Problem is squad chat.
If an attack is discussed on squad chat, then this can create an unwanted link between sides.

The Weasels covers both sides. Squad chat is not shared, so we're cool. As a matter of fact, one of our Axis recruits killed me twice this morning in Arras. He is being demoted to latrine duty soon...:-)

I hated this concept in other games because it just put a bunch of rude people in the same chat room, but in this game, it is a great idea. I quit the game more than once because I didn't know how to play, and a default squad would have fixed that.
