In this MailBag, we tackle some questions from players on topics ranging from improving your score to getting orders from HC and even a question about possible mobile FBs. Read more and find out what question merited, "We'll take a look and see if it is merely a bug or it was purposefully done."

I have been stuck on the rank of Lieutenant for years now. I just don't play very much, but I have decided that I want to make Captain.  What would be the fastest way to gain the points I need?  Is there a table or schedule somewhere that has a breakdown?
-Bulge

You can check your progress to the next rank on your AAR after each mission. There are several things you can do to gain rank like supplying ammo or driving paratroopers to mission or blowing up bridges and bombing factories but the sure fire fastest way to gain rank is to fight the enemy. You'll get more points for getting kills that are challenging and less points for easy kills.

Having seen the new website, I must agree that it looks more simple and easier to understand. However,  can you please add a large "join game" area so that we can launch the game from the site like we used to before?
-Buffa

We're working on a new verson of PlayGATE which will streamline chosing servers (campaign, training, etc) and logging in. This will eliminate the need for different launcher links entirely. There have also been some browser compatibility issue that crop by using weblinks. Please refer to this recent article for more info. Bottom line? No web links for launching, sorry.

OK after playing since release I am going to ask my first question. Is there any plans to add something that will tell me in game what high command wants? For example, if I happen to be looking while I see the message "Antwerp is priority one", I know where the battle is.  If I sign in, I have no idea what is happening. It would be nice to have something, perhaps a tap when you hit map, that lets us know.
-Stlth42o

That is something we are looking at incorporating into a new Battles Tab in the UI that will exist outside of the OrBat we have now. We haven't worked out all of the details on how we are going to display those sorts of things because we have to avoid concentrating everyone on a single AO and spread people out.

The commanders in some of the tanks seems to have a neck problem. When in standard view (not zoomed) they just look straight ahead, not up and down. Any plans to look into this? A quick test offline showed that the following tank had the problem:
Churchill III
Churchill VII
Stuart
M10
Sherman
Sherman 76
PZ IIIH
Stug IIIG

-Gossas

That sounds like a bug but I'm not sure. Reminds me of the episcopes on the French tanks. We'll take a look and see if it is merely a bug or it was purposefully done.

Is possible to develop Mobile Forward Bases (Mobile FBs) for each brigade? I mean that the AHC or GHC could study and decide where to install the FB for an attack, always in a range from the AB where the brigade is linked to, and this FB would be open until the opposite band blow it up, so the recon missions for attack or defend a city, bridge, af or anything else would take a new dimension in the map.
-Kimman

Something we've wanted to do for a long time.

pilots should be able to jump out of their planes after downed(the killer of the plane still gets points), but the pilot can kill but not cap.

there should be medics that can heal others but not themselves and get points for revivals. and litter team you know. just some type of medic that helps OTHER comrades not themselves.

I'm wondering what make CRS interesting or considering to have Mobile Forward Base (MFB) since we had posted about MFB.

Has anyone discussed the spawn/resupply/FB model used in the Project Reality mod for BF2? I think it shares a lot in common with WW2OL and would love to see some of their ideas incorporated into WW2OL.

I think someone who has been playing for a long time should get full access to equipment no matter what there rank is. we all pay the same amount
