If you got the recent Nvidia 196.75 drivers (released on March 2), please uninstall them and use the 196.21 drivers dated January 19. They might cause your video card to overheat and do significant damage. There are wide-spread reports that these are causing the video cards to overheat, and heat can lead to permanent damage of your video card, motherboard, etc. Apparently they effect the fan controls and prevent proper cooling. Nvidia has pulled the drivers from their site, making the 196.21 drivers as the most recent now.
Therefore, we recommend you follow Nvidia's suggestion and uninstall the 196.75 drivers and reinstall the 196.21. |
