The St Nik Slug

Allied HQ was in a massive debate on where to hit the Axis lines. Thoughts on the next target were looking grim. The Allied troops were getting restless. Soldiers jumping from town to town to bring relief to our already weak lines. The night was pressing on and a town selection was needed ASAP to keep momentum going after our last big town capture.

As Cometus, the ,ap OIC, made a decision for St Nik, he asked Major CE of 23rd Armor to rally up an armor colum. The call went out to the Allied forces for a massive armor raid for St Nik. We named our rally point at Stenke for the 2nd Armor Brigade.

Orders were given out to rally at R1 in the North section of the woods to keep EWS low or clear for the formation. As more troops joined, the armor numbers jumped. As the numbers jumped, the EWS started to trip in the northern towns. Once we hit the 65 mark, we rolled en mass.

As we pass through each rally point, I made a call to RAF/FAF to provide Air support. Infantry battalions brought MSPs to support our colum to the North side of St Nik. Zones of control were set up and infantry support with ATG screens started hitting Axis forces from 1.7k. As infantry froces moved in, so too did the 65 tanks.

With a funnel fromation from the North, we pushed in slowly. After the funnel was established orders to unleash Hell were given. Churchills to the front with Crusader 3's on the slight flank followed by DAC's and Vickies to provide sapper protection. MSPs were delployed on four corners of St Nik.

3g after 3g and tigers fell fast. Slowly the Axis got sappers out into the NW Fields. They started picking off our armor in short order. We decided to rotate an MSP to the SE side to provide a covert approach source. A dozen tanks then flanked to the SE side to provide supression on the depots for infatntry to press on the Spawnable.

35 intense minutes into the attack, the spawnable was Allied. Armor continued to provide supression on all depots in town. More SW MSP's were inbound to supply the attack with continual infantry support.

CAP/CAS are getting hit by the LuftWaffe with force. Air battles turned into epic fights throughout the duration of the attack. It was glorious.

What started off at 65 tanks quickly turned into 27, more than half our attacking force eliminated by vicious Axis resistance. As we were slowly pushing in from the spawnable, so did our armor. We locked the entire SE/E Side. Full bore flood proceeded into the E side and we overran the AB with infantry covering murder holes and armor locking down vehicle spawns and barracks in St Nik.

Allied soldiers swarmed over the bunker and finished off the last of the Axis ground forces. Our armor still getting pounded by the LW and the Axis were not willing to give up easily. Allied forces held and finally capture dthe Sy Nik Army Base through sheer determination.

Our Allied forces were VICTORIOUS! The Allied made a stand and helped make one of the largest colums in a long time. Our Axis foe fought hard and valiant and we salute them.
