Campaign Report - ALLIED - 01-16-12
Written by MOTORMOUTH

FROM THE DESK OF THE ALLIED COMMANDER IN CHIEF:

S!

Last week the allied side took some towns along the riverline. Towns we still hold, however this week not much progress has been done. Towns have been taken and lost, but the line is very much the same as last week.

Every now and then the map will reach such a state and standstills are to be expected from time to time. It is up to us as a team to work our way out and crush through the German lines and liberate Europe. Together our officers and players should be more than able to achieve this goal.

On Sunday a CinC vs CinC event was hosted, great numbers and fun was reported and it was a great success for both allied and axis players.  We hope to see similar events in the future and extend our thanks to all who helped plan and execute this event.

In the AHC it has been a quiet week, as in no promotions, new branch commanders are getting time to warm up to their new posts. We as officers are ready to push the axis back and we are looking forward to doing so.

AAR of the week

I grabbed the map from Svart early Saturday morning. Axis was overpop and we were defending in Namur and Andenne with attacks in Damvillers and Huy. Axis stacked six flags in Profondeville and really pushed Namur. Thanks to the efforts of B2K, who Svart had made OIC, we took Damvillers, and we dropped the Huy AO to focus on defence. We tried to poke them in Spincourt, but couldn't get much movement. Did I mention they really pushed Namur? But we held out and smoked many - many axis forces.

During this time they tried to mole Antwerp. We AO'd Kalmthout to put an end to this and took the town. We then softcapped Wuustwezel, for good measure. At this point, we finally liberated Namur and they started pushing Andenne. Great player response stopped that attack and we were able to start setting up in Hastiere, with nwstar2 in charge there. Hastiere was slow going, but a core group of players kept pushing it. They then AO'd Aarschot and for a time had double EWS in both Andenne and Aarschot and were trying to set up on Damvillers.

Made Hatedeath OIC in Damvillers and he spanked them there and they dropped Andenne and pushed Aarschot. Again, good player response on defense stalled the advance and Drake1 and I were able to bust the Aarschot FB. In the meantime, NWstar2 and his crew had kept the AO in Hastiere going - slowly making progress. We were able to shift all the players to Hast and really push the town - eventually taking it. During the end game in Hastiere, we were pushing so hard that Axis had no AO's, so it was nice to be able to just get after them.

Thanks to all the HC who helped greatly (and were patient with me): the aforementioned Nwstar2, Dubane, tilo, Xjaeg, and Kilroy. It was very busy night, I might be missing some DO's in here - it was that busy. Many players stood out, but I'd like to highlight the work of Joker007 in Andenne and greg56 working wherever we needed him.
